Why Do Vegan Always Talk About Being Vegan?
Though I am yet to encounter them, I assume based on the number of times the question is asked in varying forms here on Quora, and else where across the internet there must be a group of self-obsessed, talkative, and mildly irritating vegans in the world. Attempts at levity aside, I rarely raise with others the fact of my choice to enjoy a vegan lifestyle. If I am not asked about it there is no reason to mention it, on the other hand ask me about it and I will be glad to share my experience and learn more about your take on the lifestyle. I would do the same if you asked about my favorite football team.
I do see on a daily basis a set of social media influencers that dwell on their vegan lifestyle, but in their case the vegan choice is their paycheck - they promote it because that is their actual claim to fame.
As for “real world” vegans, I just don’t see folks walking around telling others about their food and product choices being vegan. If you encounter those who do I can see how it may be an off-putting experience. It is generally more pleasant to be with those who are interested in listening than with those who prefer to talk about themselves, regardless of the topic.
